Alaria Godwin

Alaria began her professional massage career after graduating from PMTI in 1999, having been a hands-on energy worker since 1987. She left the Blue Ridge Mountains for Wimberley in 2018. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Lymphedema Therapist, Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist (Vodder Technique,) ICTA Certified Cupping Therapist, and is Wimberley's first Society For Oncology Massage Preferred Practitioner. She has worked in medical clinics, spas, at retreats on land and in water, in private practice, and at sporting and community outreach events.

She specializes in working with people affected by cancer, as well as offering lymphatic applications including lymphedema treatment and Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD.) Oncology massage goes beyond modified touch during cancer treatment. It is also specifically tailored to each individual depending on their needs to address short- and long-term effects of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, whether months, years, or decades after treatment. Caregivers of people with cancer may also benefit from oncology massage.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage may be helpful for a wide variety of purposes, from general wellness, to surgical recovery, to managing conditions which impact swelling, pain levels, and a sense of heaviness. Many autoimmune and chronic conditions respond well to MLD.
